Cameroonian Jean Onana, new OM midfielder, explained Thursday that joining Marseille had been an “easy” choice for him, who calls himself “Marseillais at heart”.
“I had a phone call from the president and Mehdi (Benatia, Pablo Longoria's sports advisor, editor's note) to tell me about the project,” said Onana, presented to the press on Thursday alongside Longoria.
“I am from Marseillais at heart, since I was little I have followed OM. So it was easy for me. I was still on the phone and I was telling them it’s okay, I’m coming, I’m coming,” he said again.
The former Lille, Bordeaux and Lens player, who arrived in Marseille on loan from Besiktas, then explained that the move to OM of several Cameroonian players had also convinced him of the correctness of his choice.
