Thanks Wahi! Mute since his arrival in the North, the former Montpellier found the net fifteen minutes into the game with a goal full of class and technical accuracy. The 23-year-old striker guided RC Lens to victory in Strasbourg (0-1), this Friday, during the first match of the seventh day of Ligue 1. After five nightmarish first days, Franck Haise's men went on to have a second victory in a row in the championship.
Far from being breathtaking, the Lensois were solid and efficient to win in Strasbourg. The Northerners could have killed off the match at the end of the match but Adrien Thomasson was not inspired by the idea of scoring against his former club. Never really worried, the Lensois moved up to 13th place in the standings before welcoming Arsenal on Tuesday, for their second Champions League group stage match.
For their part, the Strasbourg side (provisionally) keep their sixth place but were very disappointing this evening. Patrick Vieira's men never managed to prove dangerous against the Sang et Or and greatly lacked character. No real revolt was felt after Wahi opened the score. The Alsatians do not validate their good start to the season and continue to produce ups and down results.
