Lille's Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca complained on Sunday about "the worst refereeing" he has experienced since he arrived at Losc in the summer of 2022, after the draw conceded by his team at Clermont (0-0 ) in the match of the 15th day.
“The decisions have always been against Losc. On his disallowed goal, Rémy (Cabella, in the 84th minute, editor's note) only plays the ball and does not make a mistake. It’s the worst arbitration I’ve had since I’ve been at Lille,” Fonseca said at a press conference.
“We didn't have control of the match. We did not deliver a good match individually and technically. A lot of players missed a lot of passes. It was also more difficult with arbitration like that,” he added. “I am the first to say that the referees in France have a lot of qualities, but today that was not the case,” said the Portuguese technician whose team, now 4th, three lengths behind Monaco ( 3rd), has lost ground in the race for Europe.
“I don’t know if we lost two points here. It's not a magnificent result but the credit also goes to Clermont who delivered a good match. We lacked aggression. We cannot be satisfied not to win,” he continued.
