After beating Real in the derby on Sunday, Atlético Madrid continued by winning (2-0) at Osasuna on Thursday, at the end of the 7th day of the Spanish Championship.
Dominant in the first quarter of an hour, the Colchoneros quickly opened the scoring thanks to a left-footed shot, from an improbable angle, from Frenchman Antoine Griezmann (20th). But facing a team that was weak in the second half, Osasuna created several dangerous chances in the Madrid area, including a header from David Garcia Zubiria that was refused (75th) which led to the expulsion of the Madrid coach. Osasuna, Jagoba Arrasate, furious on his bench.
In a very tense end to the match, Rodrigo Riquelme scored the second goal for Atlético (81st) and the two teams finished the match at 10 after two red cards - against Madrid's Morata and Osasuna striker Avila - for a collision (85th).
With this victory, Antoine Griezmann's teammates jump to 5th place in the standings, with 13 points and a game in hand, 6 points behind surprise leader Girona. Osasuna is in 14th place in the championship with 7 points.
In the two other matches of the evening, Celta Vigo and Deportivo Alavès neutralized each other (1-1), just like Granada who conceded a draw against Betis de Sevilla (1-1).
