TOPS
Two matches, ten points on the clock, 99 points scored and first place in Pool 2. The road table for Stade Toulousain is perfect after two days of the Champions Cup. In a relatively affordable group, the Haut-Garonnais assume their favorite status. The internationals, at the bottom of the wave, responded.
We could have cited the vast majority of players aligned this Sunday by Ugo Mola, as the demonstration was collective in the vast majority of sectors of play. But Dimitri Delibes stood out with the few balls he was able to touch on his right wing, and did not hesitate to dezone to pierce the first opposing curtain. The 24-year-old Frenchman was rewarded with a try (12th) and an assist on Mauvaka's try (36th).
Many Quins supporters left the stands a few minutes before the final whistle, disgusted by the turn of the match, but they will at least have been able to see several jewels among the seven tries conceded. The achievements of Delibes (12th), Barassi (51st) or Ramos (77th) could all make good candidates for the weekend test.
Ugo Mola's men lived up to their reputation as an efficient away team: this great success allowed them to obtain a tenth victory in their last twelve trips in the group stage of the Champions Cup.
FLOPS
What do all three Harlequins tries have in common? They followed three Toulouse tests. Each time, the French champions showed a certain indolence and made avoidable technical errors, well converted by the locals.
Brilliant in week A, absent in week B. If Marcus Smith crystallizes so much criticism through his style of play, the young fly-half produced a top performance last week to lead his teammates to victory against Racing 92 (31- 28). This Sunday, he was much less visible with poorly felt kicks which ended in a dead ball, a missed penalty. The Englishman made little difference with the ball in hand, well watched by the Haut-Garonne defense.
