Nantes suffered on Thursday in Toulouse but ended up defeating the Phenix (28-26) in the semi-final of the French Handball Cup and will defend their title against Paris SG on April 20 in Bercy.
The “H”, in the final for the third year in a row, will aim for a third Coupe de France and the Parisians a seventh after having eliminated Montpellier at home the day before (35-32).
The second semi-final was more defensive but as tight as the first, Toulouse coming back several times to the level of Nantes who escaped in the last five minutes thanks first to a save (55th) from Croatian goalkeeper Ivan Pesic (12 saves at 33% success), while his team led by a length (25-24) and was outnumbered.
In the process, Julien Bos gave the “H” two goals before scoring the next two goals, the last definitively sealing the victory 1 min 10 sec from the siren (28-25).
