Although he took pole position in the United States this weekend, Charles Leclerc only finished 6th in the race, even before being disqualified. This is the 10th time in a row that the Monegasque, after setting the best time in qualifying, has failed to convert this into a success. And even the 17th time in his career, he who has five successes.
Questioned on the subject at the microphone of Canal, Charles Leclerc kept smiling, while expressing a touch of annoyance nonetheless: “I think we should especially stop with this statistic. I do a very good job on Saturdays and it always comes down to a negative statistic where, afterwards, unfortunately, in the race we cannot convert. But hey, today I don't have the car to convert on Sunday. I hope that one day I will have it and then I will change this statistic. For now I'm very happy with the car we have on Saturday. Afterwards, very clearly, when it comes to tire degradation, we are less good than the others.”
