Foot: Garcia is not "afraid" to succeed Spalletti, but "starts from zero" in Naples

French coach Rudi Garcia, freshly arrived in Naples to replace Luciano Spalletti, said he was "not afraid" to take the reins of the club but that he was "starting from scratch" a few weeks later the club's first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona.

The French technician will have the heavy task of replacing Luciano Spalletti, who left at the beginning of the month after ending Napoli's 33-year wait for the Serie A title.

"I'm not afraid of anything. The title should give players confidence, but when the new season starts, we start from scratch. The players must somehow forget what they have achieved before,” Garcia told reporters during his official presentation.

“We have a quality squad that will help us win games... and the president is ambitious. It means that I will have a good team and that we can put on a show for the supporters,” he explained.

Garcia knows Italian football well having been in charge of AS Roma, which he qualified for the Champions League in 2014 and 2015 before being sacked the following season.
