After producing a catastrophic performance on the European stage against Atalanta Bergamo, the Reds lost (0-3). After the match, coach Jürgen Klopp spoke: “We played a bad game, we deserved to lose. This is what we must feel now.”
Despite an attractive start to the match, the LFC players were unable to realize their actions. “We started well, very well, then we didn't continue,” regretted the German technician. The Atalanta players took the opportunity to open the scoring in the 38th minute through Scamacca. An opening score which really hurt the Reds, according to the coach: “I think that even before they scored, we had lost the ground a little. We were everywhere and nowhere.”
After this setback against the Transalpines, Klopp does not yet want to plan for the return match. “If we play well in the return, we can win. 3-0? I don’t know, I don’t even think about it,” concluded the former Borussia Dortmund coach. Up against the wall, the “Scousers” will have to achieve a real feat to overthrow Atalanta next Thursday.
