Liverpool Scottish defender Andy Robertson underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder after being injured on October 12 during a match with the Scottish team, his coach Jürgen Klopp said on Wednesday.
Robertson, 29, was injured in a collision with Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon during the defeat (2-0) against Spain, in qualifying for Euro 2024, in Seville.
“He had surgery and everything went well, as well as possible. The convalescence begins,” Klopp told the press, without being able to specify the duration of his left-back’s unavailability.
Robertson, who played eight league matches and scored one goal with the Reds this season, was replaced by Kostas Tsimikas during the Mersey derby won last Saturday against Everton (2-0). He will also be absent when Toulouse hosts Anfield on Thursday in Group E of the Europa League.
