Bundesliga: the Leverkusen-Bayern Munich summit clash in turn interrupted

The clash of the 21st day of the German championship between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich began almost ten minutes late on Saturday, after disgruntled spectators threw plastic balls onto the pitch. Another Bundesliga match between Berlin and Wolfsburg in the afternoon was also delayed by almost an hour for the same reasons.

On Friday, the match between Dortmund and Freiburg was interrupted twice by tennis balls and golden chocolate coins thrown onto the field by spectators. A 2nd division match between Hamburg and Hanover was also disrupted, with the president of Hanover even being targeted on signs.

German fans are protesting against the arrival of private investors in the capital of the German Football League (DFB) and, more generally, against the marketing of television rights to championship matches. The clubs of the German 1st and 2nd divisions voted in December by a 2/3 majority in favor of the transfer of part of the revenue from television rights in exchange for financing assistance for the development and notoriety of the championship. But fans do not agree with this initiative, fearing in particular that it will lead to an increase in ticket prices.
