Bundesliga: Bayern Munich wants to end speculation about Tuchel's future

Bayern Munich lambasted on Monday the “statements not supported by facts” on the future of its coach Thomas Tuchel, the day after the latter's comments evoking a possible new experience abroad, while speculation is rife on Xavi's succession to FC Barcelona.

“We will no longer accept such statements not supported by facts which are directly directed against our coach and which always come from the same source,” said the Munich club in a press release.

According to Sky Sport Germany, during a meeting on Sunday with a group of Bayern supporters, Thomas Tuchel spoke about the possibility of coaching a foreign club again one day.

“I will undoubtedly be tempted again by going abroad,” said the former coach of Paris SG and Chelsea, according to comments reported by Sky, during a visit to a Bavarian fan club, the Red Stars. , in Heidenheim (south). “Spain has an exceptional league,” added the 50-year-old coach, still quoted by the channel.

Comments which quickly opened the door to speculation on the future of the German technician, while his Spanish counterpart Xavi announced on Saturday his departure at the end of the season from FC Barcelona.

“He never spoke about Xavi Hernandez and his successor, contrary to what was subsequently claimed,” writes Bayern, which recalls that Tuchel also answered “general questions from fans about Spain in as a football country.

The Bavarian club emphasizes that its coach responded more generally to questions about his experiences abroad at the head of PSG in the French championship (2018-2020) then Chelsea in the English championship (2021- 2022).

Tuchel has coached Bayern since March 2023.
