Biathlon: “I was passive, I didn’t know how to let go,” notes Braisaz-Bouchet

And unfortunately, I dropped a lot of points on the last shot standing. I was passive, I didn't know how to let go, let go of the bullets... Everything happened in the face. Emotions rose, I was very annoyed... I know this trap very well, I have experienced it over and over again, and it is very difficult to get out of this spiral. We are in the action and I am caught up in my thoughts, saying to myself: “Ok, if you go out with the full…” And I have never dared, at any time on my standing shots, not once have I didn't dare engage like I do in training. The physical state was ok, I was completely lucid, it seems crazy to me not to come out of this state of mind. It’s a trap that I know too well and it’s a shame.”

Quentin Fillon Maillet (FRA/42nd in the individual in Östersund with five faults): “It’s frustrating because I’ve had good training so far, and that’s not yet reflected in competition. I did a lot of sessions with 100% at high intensities. I have to put all this in place in competition. I'm going to try to find the positive despite everything because in skiing, I have the impression that he was among the best. I always take a little time to get started (at the start of the season). Two years ago, the Olympic season was not exceptional at the start and it did very well afterwards. I remain focused for the future and I am not going to flagellate myself this evening because of this bad race today (Sunday).”
