"As the quarterback, since the man that is at arguably the most important position in the field, if you are in a location that you are not desired and they would like to proceed out of you, the feeling is mutual," Goff informed the Los Angeles Times. "You do not wish to be in the wrong location. It became clear that was the situation."

On Saturday, the Rams traded Goff, combined with two first-round selections along with a third-round selection, into the Lions in trade for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Goff, the No. 1 pick from the 2016 NFL draft, told the Los Angeles Times he was unsure if the Rams decided he wouldn't be a part of the future.

"That is the challenging part at this time is trying to figure out, when did this occur?" Goff stated. "Those are conversations I may or may not have, and attempt to figure out it. That is the dialogue to get."

Following a season-ending reduction to the Green Bay Packers at a divisional playoff game, Rams coach Sean McVay was requested whether Goff was the quarterback.

Ten days afterwards, Rams general manager Les Snead wouldn't commit to Goff's long term future with the group in a videoconference, telling reporters,"Jared Goff is a Ram at the moment.

Neither the Rams nor the Lions can openly comment about the transaction until it's official at the onset of the new league season on March 17.

Following McVay's coming in 2017, Goff led the Rams to consecutive division titles, an NFC championship and a Super Bowl LIII look, double earning Pro Bowl recognition.

Ahead of the 2019 year, Goff signed a four-year, $134 million expansion that ensured $110 million.

On the other hand, the crime regressed in 2019 and continued its downward twist last year despite having a 10-6 finish and also a wild-card playoff triumph.

In four seasons together with McVay, Goff gathered 42 wins, connected to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and next just during that time period to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

After the commerce, Goff stated he overcame a first feeling of disappointment and climbed excited after associating with the Lions' employees, including general director Brad Holmes, the Rams' former director of faculty who had a voice in drafting Goff.

"You begin to feel, I really don't wish to state'relief' is your term, but you begin to feel joyful, thankful, prepared for a new chance," Goff said. "That is the largest feeling I was overcome with this night, and even from the days after."

After playing five seasons in L.A.,'' Goff said that he wouldn't allow a disappointing end tarnish his lasting memories.

"Clearly, the end wasn't positive and was not entertaining," Goff said. "However, them drafting me No. 1 complete and bringing me into a town which has not had a soccer team in quite a while, being part of that reconstruct after 2016, having the ability to help bring L.A. soccer back to prominence, all that stuff I take extreme pride inside. It is something which I will always remember."
