We can all relate to the thirst-quenching satisfaction when gulping down a cold glass of water during the summers. There is no reminding us of the necessity of staying hydrated during the summers.
The sweat and the scorching heat are a reminder enough. However, it is during the winters that we forget the importance of drinking water. Your body still needs to stay hydrated throughout the year regardless of how cold it gets out there!
It can be easy to forget that your body is craving for water even during your winter workout sessions especially because of those breathable workout shirts we wear; they will immediately absorb any sweat you let out making it easier to forget you’re losing water.
Drinking water is very important regardless of what the season is. Often it is forgotten that water is not only necessary to remain hydrated but also because it helps regulate your body temperature which ensures that your muscles and tissues work properly.
Staying hydrated will also help decrease anxiety and stress which can become worse during those winter blues. So, if you’re planning on continuing that exercise routine, make sure to add a water bottle to your list along with the new warm and comfortable activewear you were going to buy!
Drink Plenty of Water
This should be a no brainer! The best way of staying hydrated is to drink an ample amount of water during the entire day. It can get easier if you place all your water bottles in a place you can see them all the time.
So next to your laptop, on your office table, on your side table and the kitchen counter are all ideal places to keep your water bottles.
You can also make your drinks interesting if you don’t want to drink water simply. Making a concoction out of mint leaves, lemon and honey will spice up your drink and motivate you to drink more water!
Remember even if you have to trick yourself into drinking water then do it! It is all worth it.
Eat Fruits and Vegetables
Drinking water is not your only way of staying hydrated! There are plenty of fruits and vegetables that mother nature offers us that is full of minerals. So if you love eating fruits and vegetables then you have your priorities straight and should not struggle while trying to take care of your body.

Avoid drinking Sodas
We know the temptation of chugging down that cold glass of coke with a hot meal is hard to avoid even during the icy nights. However, sodas and other carbonated drinks might quench your thirst but don’t be deceived as they cause dehydration. So, the reason why you want to keep drinking that soda because you continue to feel thirsty is that your body is begging for something more hydrating like water. It becomes a vicious cycle of feeling thirsty, drinking soda, and still feeling thirsty. Avoid getting stuck in that loop because now you know better!
Hot Teas are your best friend
What are winters if not about reading a book lying down cozily in your blanket with that perfect cup of tea next to you? Now we don’t mean the caffeinated teas we all are addicted to! We mean the various kinds of green teas you can drink. The markets are full of flavorful teas you can enjoy. Maybe spice them up by adding cinnamon sticks, mint leaves, and lemongrass. Not only will you enjoy delicious homemade green tea, but you will also be getting a boost of vitamins that will help you stay hydrated and build your immune system during the winters.
Soups - A complete meal
