BMW launches its most powerful and luxurious electric saloon in Spain

BMW has just launched the BMW i7 M70 xDrive in Spain, its most powerful electric saloon and one of the most luxurious models in its entire range. With a power of 485 kW (660 CV) and an impressive maximum torque of 1,100 Nm, the i7 M70 xDrive is the sportiest version of the new BMW 7 Series, the luxury sedan or representation of the Bavarian brand. And, in addition, it is 100% electric.

Developed by BMW M GmbH, the specialist sports car division of BMW, the new sports variant of the i7 marks a milestone in electrification for the German marque. The two high-performance electric motors, one on each axle, generate a combined power of 660 hp and allow acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The top speed, electronically limited, is 250 km/h.

With an energy consumption of between 23.8 and 20.8 kWh/100 km (WLTP combined cycle), the new BMW i7 M70 xDrive promises a range of up to 560 kilometers on a single charge. Not bad for a vehicle that weighs 2,715 kg and measures 5.4 meters long by 1.95 wide and 1.54 high. With a wheelbase of 3.2 metres, it offers a large interior space for rear-row passengers and cargo capacity is not far behind with a 500-litre boot.

The high-voltage battery integrated in the lower area of the vehicle is 101.7 kWh and it is possible to charge in alternating current (AC) as standard with a power of up to 22 kW, which allows full charging at a charging point home in five and a half hours.

Of course, the BMW i7 M70 xDrive also supports direct current (DC) fast charging with a power of up to 195 kW, which shortens the charging time (from 0 to 80% capacity) to just 34 minutes as long as the point charging is compatible.

The new BMW i7 M70 xDrive is manufactured along with all other models of the new 7 Series at the BMW Group plant in the Bavarian town of Dingolfing. The electric motors and high-voltage batteries for all variants of the BMW i7 are also manufactured at the same plant.

The price for Spain of the model starts at 186,450 euros and the dealer network is already accepting orders. The range is completed with the i7 eDrive50 (455 CV of power and 611 km of autonomy), available in Spain from 115,500 euros, and the i7 xDrive60, on sale from 139,350 euros with 544 CV and a maximum range of 624 kilometers with a single charge.
