After receiving the organizations on Monday, the government announced a 1.5% increase in the index point for civil servants, which will come into effect on July 1. The first public service union, the CGT, which demanded a 10% increase in the index point, vilified a "largely insufficient" measure, estimating the loss of purchasing power at 16% since 2010.
All agents will also be awarded 5 points, corresponding to a flat-rate aid of 25 additional euros per month. Public officials also obtained the renewal for 2023 of the individual purchasing power guarantee, an increase in mission expenses, better coverage of public transport subscriptions and an increase in the scale of monetization of time savings accounts. After the 3.5% increase in the index point last summer for a cost of 7.5 billion euros, these new measures amount to 3.5 billion euros.
