Like every year, the ax is about to fall for the French who have not paid all their income taxes. As of Monday, September 25, tax households with a balance to pay as part of their 2022 declaration will be deducted by the administration. The people concerned, who were notified on their tax notice this summer, will therefore see one or more deductions appear, depending on their situation.
In detail, the remainder to be paid will be taken in full at once, on September 25, if it is less than or equal to 300 euros. If the sum exceeds this amount, a quarter will be paid next Monday, then the other payments will take place on October 26, November 27 and December 27, specifies the tax administration. The levy will be identified “by its origin (“GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC FINANCES”) and by its wording (“2022 INCOME TAX BALANCE INVOICE NUMBER XXX”)”.
The bank account concerned is, in all cases, the one declared to the authorities. In the event of a change, you must therefore notify the tax administration as quickly as possible. Last year, 10.7 million households owed debt, for a total amount of 22.5 billion euros. Households entitled to a tax refund have, for their part, already received their money, which was to be sent “either on July 24 or August 2”.
