What if, for your wedding, you offer your guests a meal... McDo? Does the idea sound unusual to you? However, this is what the sign with the yellow arches now offers in its restaurants in Indonesia. For just over 230 euros (3.5 million Indonesian rupees), the fast-food giant intends to take care of everything, according to information from Business Insider.
The fast-food chain, which enjoys strong popularity in the country, will now offer packages to future spouses that include 200 orders. On the menu: Chicken Burgers, boxes of McNuggets, Cheeseburgers or Chicken Fingers. This preponderance of meat in the dishes is also one of the reasons that has allowed the rapid development of fast foods in Indonesia, and which should therefore appeal to potential spouses. According to Business Insider, it would even be a golden opportunity, since the bride and groom would thus save nearly 60 euros compared to a classic order.
"There are also other service options, where we can also provide food stalls at an additional cost," local manager Rizki Haryadi said in an interview with Sun US. Enough to make the wedding, to use the slogan of the package, "an unforgettable moment". Few doubts indeed.
The manager nevertheless recalls that "the wedding package is not for organizing a wedding in a McDonald's store, but only for the food". For a complete service, you can always go to Hong Kong, where since 2011 McDonald's has offered to organize the entire party, from the balloons to the buffet, for a total of 250 to 350 euros.
For the moment, the offer of wedding meals is only available in the island of Java, "but it could be exported to the rest of the world if successful" according to Rizki Haryadi. Still, this new offering once again exemplifies the brand's famous slogan: come as you are.
