IMF: Kristalina Georgieva reappointed as Managing Director

The board of directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced on Friday that its managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, had been appointed, “by consensus”, to remain at the head of the institution for a second five-year term.

The new mandate of Kristalina Georgieva, who was the only candidate nominated for her own succession, will begin on October 1, 2024, at the end of the current one, the IMF specified in a press release.
