The financial envelope remains unchanged, although in two years half of the budgets have been committed and cover more than 3,000 projects throughout France. Seven challenges were launched by Emmanuel Macron, after staging an initial assessment, materialized by company testimonies.

Even if he welcomed the great successes achieved in various areas, the President put things into perspective by putting the progress in perspective with that of the much more determined and proactive of the Chinese and the French.

To go “faster, stronger” in energy, a program will be revealed at the start of the school year, in order to have energy that corresponds to our means of production, which underpinned all the discussions between EDF and the 'State. The objective is to protect consumers from market fluctuations by being competitive. Accelerating also means producing “faster”, he opened the hunt “for the hidden cost, which is that of slowness”. From the start of next year a series of “very concrete” provisions must be proposed to improve the performance of the administration. “We cannot have procedures twice as long as those of our Asian and American competitors.”

France 2030 has many energy projects, European texts and reforms are also expected. The axes are simple: sobriety, renewable and nuclear:

Results to date: 4 battery factories, and in the nuclear sector 8 SMR (small modular reactor) projects selected as part of the France 2030 plan.

Results to date: Securing a reduction of 6.6 million tonnes of CO2 per year.

Results to date: Creation of a French critical metals fund with a target size of 2 billion euros, supplemented to the tune of 500 million by the State. Support for 17 projects in the sector.

Objective: by 2030, control all strategic resources on our soil, as well as their recycling and reuse.

Project leaders: Imerys, Viridian, Eramet, Sanou Koura, WeeCycling

Results to date: 8 biomedicines are now produced in France

Objectives: by 2030, secure our supply of biomaterials and bioenergy, while respecting our biodiversity.

Project leaders: Global Bioenergies, Blackleak, Calyxia, Néolithe, Aenitis Technologies, Affilogic, BioMérieux, Biomunex Pharmaceuticals, CellQuest, Kimialys, PathoQuest, Seripharm, Astraveus, Cell-Easy, Ceva, Encefa, MaaT Pharma, Human Cell Design.

Results to date: More than 360 projects supported, 1.065 billion euros from France 2030 granted.

Objective: by 2030, create around ten French companies at the forefront of the production of microcomponents essential to the development and use of AI.

Project leaders: Kalray, Sipearl, CEA.

Results to date: 8 reusable micro-launcher projects launched, 4 constellations under development – ​​2 first micro-launcher engine tests already carried out.

Objective: by 2030, become European leaders in the space race, by banking on our French nuggets in micro-launchers and space cargo.
