Nora Hamzawi, CE2 actress by Jacques Doillon, regrets the upcoming release of the film

“What is happening in the cinema sector, and which I hope extends to other sectors, is essential and important.” Nora Hamzawi posted a story on her Instagram account on Tuesday to oppose the broadcast of Jacques Doillon's latest film. The 40-year-old actress plays one of the main roles in CE2, which will be released on March 27.

Nora Hamzawi believes that the broadcast of the film, produced by Arena FIlms and distributed by Les Acacias, “represents contempt for the words of women”, while this liberation “is the thing to support as a priority today ". The producer of the film, Bruno Pesery, for his part justified his decision in a press release by estimating that this feature film was the fruit of teamwork which brought together the efforts of numerous trade bodies “that it “acts of actors, technicians, service providers, producers, distributors, press officers or exhibitors”. However, he specifies: “It is important to us that this decision is not received as an expression of deafness or indifference with regard to the accusations brought against its author: they are serious, we have them took the measure from the first hour.

Ironically, CE2 deals with harassment. The film, which brings together Nora Hamzawi and Alexis Menenti in the cast, focuses on the story of Claire, a young student harassed by two classmates. His mother intervenes with the principal who does not understand the seriousness of the situation and leaves the children in the same class. Little by little, the executioner and the victim will become more familiar with each other. Bruno Pesery judges that this feature film is “an invitation to awareness, dialogue and vigilance”. He also insists on the “forty years” which separate the production of the film from the facts of which Jacques Doillon is accused.

The 79-year-old director is the target of a rape complaint filed with the minor protection brigade of the Paris judicial police by Judith Godrèche. It was in 1987, when the young actress was playing in The 15-year-old Girl - her age at the time of the events - that the director abused her. “On the set, it was amazing.
