Impressive trailer for Furiosa, fifth installment of the Mad Max saga

Charlize Theron will not have to be ashamed of her successor. Warner Bros has unveiled a first and impressive trailer for Furiosa, the fifth installment of the Mad Max saga by George Miller. Anya Taylor-Joy plays a younger version of the warrior, star of the cult film Mad Max: Fury Road. The revelation of the Netflix miniseries The Lady's Game displays hypnotic charisma and rebelliousness. This clip also promises rides through the desert, chases, explosions and memorable bits of bravery.

Furiosa is a prequel. This prologue takes place several decades before all the feature films in the franchise that made Mel Gibson famous. “As the world crumbles, young Furiosa is torn from the Green Motherland and finds herself in the hands of a horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus. As two Tyrants vie for dominance of the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials while seeking to keep her promise: to return home through the Wasteland,” promises the synopsis of Furiosa.

Expected in our theaters at the end of May 2024, Furiosa could hope, like Fury Road, for a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Carried by Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, who had difficulty getting along on the set, Fury Road had collected 400 million dollars at the box office and ten Oscar nominations.

In the credits of Furiosa, which promises to be an “odyssey”, features Chris Hemsworth. Marvel's Thor plays the monstrous and antagonistic Dementus. “He’s a complicated individual. He is a very violent, crazy and brutal person, born in the Wasteland. He is a product of his environment,” specifies the Australian actor who says he had his best experience in front of the camera thanks to this role. And he added to the audience at the Brazilian CCXP convention: “He was born in a space where you have to kill or be killed. He learned to rule with an iron fist. He has charisma and a very manipulative temperament.
