Freeze Corleone banned from concert in Paris by police headquarters

Rebelote. Four days before the highly anticipated concert of rapper Freeze Corleone in Paris, the police headquarters announced a ban on his two performances at the Zénith on November 24 and 25. In view of the “particularly tense geopolitical context following the large-scale terrorist attack launched by Hamas on October 7, 2023”, the authorities deemed it more prudent to cancel the performances of Freeze Corleone, whose real name is Issa Lorenzo Diakhaté, considered a “particularly controversial artist” because of his texts containing “numerous conspiratorial and anti-Semitic references”. The authorities therefore fear that “disturbances to public order will occur” during these two evenings, while a large number of their forces will be mobilized for other events such as the concert of Congolese singer Fally Ipupa at La Défense Arena ( November 25).

This is not the first time that a Freeze Corleone concert has been suspended by the authorities. Last February, the 31-year-old rapper had already been banned from performing at a festival in Rennes, for the same reasons. After pleading his case and affirming that he would not play the songs concerned, the Council of State finally decided to maintain the rapper's concert in Brittany.

This Wednesday, determined to save this new date, the Freeze Corleone teams immediately reacted via a press release, announcing that an appeal had been filed. “We therefore renew our total support for our artists and we ask everyone, like us, to await the results of the appeals already filed this evening, by our lawyers, to try to maintain the participation of Freeze Corleone in the Zénith concerts” announces Survolta production on X (formerly Twitter).
