In an episode of the Accutron podcast, Francis Ford Coppola announced that his $120 million-plus self-financed film, Megalopolis, will be released in 2024.
“Today, everyone promotes themselves by saying “watch my film, watch my film”. I don't say that. If you want to see my film, you will see it. I don't really want to talk about it because I'm working on it, explains the director. All I can say is that I love the actors in it. It's unusual and you never get bored. Other than that, you'll have to wait and see. It will only be a few months before it comes out.”
Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne and Dustin Hoffman are in the cast of Megalopolis. The film, made in Atlanta and New York, tells “a Roman epic in modern America.” In an interview with media outlet Deadline, Coppola also described Megalopolis as a "love story."
