Guy Marchand was nine years old when his father, a jazz enthusiast, gave him a clarinet. This is how his passion for music was born. For almost half a century, the singer exploited all his talents, publishing a total of nineteen albums. He was not only a clarinetist, but also a pianist and saxophonist. La Passionata is a tribute to Spanish culture with an Italian title. This song, a hit in the summer of 1965, marked the artist's first musical success. In the 45 rpm on which this heady song appears, we also find the titles Chanteur de charme and It leaves you perplexed.

This song was performed as a duet with Brigitte Bardot in 1971 for the soundtrack of Boulevard de Rhum, in which Guy Marchand and the actress shared the bill. In this film by Robert Enrico, the actor even plays the lover of Linda Larue aka Brigitte Bardot.
