Cinema: the comedy We, the Leroys crowned at the Alpe d’Huez festival

We, the Leroys, Florent Bernard's first feature film, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and José Garcia, won the Grand Prix at the 27th Alpe d'Huez International Comedy Film Festival on Saturday. This comedy, expected in theaters on April 10, tells the story of a last-chance operation attempted by a couple at the end of their tether during a weekend full of twists and turns.

The film, in competition with nine other feature films during this festival which ends this Sunday in the Isère resort, won the favor of the jury chaired by actress Valérie Bonneton. It succeeds Benjamin Lehrer's 38°5 quai des orfèvres, awarded in 2023.

Big success also for Et plus si affinities which leaves crowned with four awards: public prize, special jury prize but also the prizes for female and male interpretation, respectively awarded to Isabelle Carré and Bernard Campan. The film, directed by Olivier Ducray and Wilfried Meance, is expected in theaters on April 3.

The jury's favorite prize goes to Bis Repetita, by Emilie Noblet. An award presented for the first time this year, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region prize went to Happy Winners, directed by Maxime Govare and Romain Choay. Finally, the short film prize was awarded ex aequo to Allez ma fille by Chloé Jouannet and The Gendarmes and the Thieves by Adrien Guedra-Degeorges and Maxime Azzopardi.

Lasting five days and completely free for the public, this year the event welcomed nearly 25,000 spectators.
