The concept should seduce admirers of the artist… and aficionados of high-flying breakfasts. The Bristol has more ideas: for several months, a Suite – kept secret – of the Parisian palace has housed a painting by Pablo Picasso, the work called Maison à Juan-les-Pins, produced almost a hundred years ago, in 1931. The idea is simple: breakfast in front of this brightly colored painting, hung nicely in front of the dinner table. On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the artist's death, the Opéra Gallery art gallery entrusted this painting to the legendary palace on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
Until when ? Until the painting is sold to a client… Most of the clients who stay in the Suite are art lovers. One of them also booked the room for an entire month at the start of this operation. It also happens that Le Bristol surprises a few loyal customers by installing them in this ephemeral Picasso Suite. The painting, inspired by the Côte d'Azur, is a short trip to the garden of the Villa Chêne Roc where Pablo Picasso and his wife once lived.
The property is located a few steps from the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc, which was both a place of relaxation and inspiration for the painter. Like the Bristol, this luxury hotel belongs to the German hotel group Oetker Collection. As for the table, it is chef Éric Frechon – three-starred chef from the Epicure restaurant – who signs the breakfast. On the menu: boiled egg with caviar grains, smoked salmon on warm blinis, plate of fresh fruit or, for those who wish, a glass of champagne. The price, for one night and breakfast with Picasso: 3890 euros. To leave with the work under your arm, on the other hand, you will have to pay a little more… and get closer to the Opéra Gallery.
