Gad Elmaleh is aware that this gesture is only the first of a commitment that must remain constant. To our colleagues at BFMTV, he declared: “We have to be careful because once the emotion has passed, that does not mean that the problem is no longer there. On the contrary, it persists.

The comedian sees in his gesture and that of his friends a fair return of things, and he immediately added: “There is winter coming and this evening we warmed hearts and in Morocco we are going to warm bodies and souls for those who are there and who are suffering. I wanted to do this, as a mission for my country which has given me so much.”

The earthquake of September 8 is the deadliest that Morocco has experienced since the one that destroyed Agadir, on the west coast of the country, on February 29, 1960. Nearly 15,000 people, or a third of the city's population, were affected. perished. Beyond the terrible human losses and the villages destroyed by the disaster, the architectural heritage of the kingdom was also strongly affected. In Marrakech, for example, on the 700 hectares of the medina, the old city, the damage is impressive in places. The 12th century ramparts surrounding the imperial city, founded around 1070 by the Almoravid dynasty, are disfigured.
