The start of the last leg of The Ocean Race was disrupted by the collision between two boats, Guyot environnement - Team Europe and 11th Hour Racing Team, which was struck aft. The damage is very important on the Imoca of the American team which was forced to return to the port of The Hague.
New images obtained thanks to the on-board cameras make it possible to take the measure of the shock between the two boats weighing 7.6 tonnes. Guyot environnement - Team Europe arrived at high speed on the Imoca leader in the general classification at the time of the collision.
The recorded sequences also show the brief moment of panic reigning in the ranks of the crew led by Charlie Enright who expected anything but such a collision at the start of the stage.
