Premier League: Sandro Tonali charged by the English Federation for a new series of offenses linked to betting

Star recruit for the Newcastle Magpies during the 2023 summer transfer window, Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali will have had time to play 11 matches in all competitions. Suspended for 10 months last October for placing bets on matches during his time at Milan, the Italian will be the subject of a new investigation for facts identical to his first suspension.

“Tonali placed 50 separate bets between August 12, 2023 and October 12, 2023, in breach of FA Rule E8,” reports the English FA. In response to his accusations, his club Newcastle were keen to lend their support to the 23-year-old: “Sandro continues to fully comply with relevant investigations and he retains the full support of the club.”
