The dog Scobi was shot twice on the street in Sarajevo – has now found a home in Vallentuna

Scobi is a white, disheveled dog with kind eyes who will come and meet us at the door together with his owner Sara Axelsson. He lives in an apartment in Vallentuna, together with Sara and her husband.

Scobis life has drastically changed when he was only a few months ago lived as a street dog in Sarajevo. One day, sitting Sara and browsing and via a adoptionssida on Facebook she sees a video of a very hairy dog in a street corner somewhere in Sarajevo.

decided pretty fast that she wants to adopt the dog and contacted the girls who run förmedlingssidan. There was not much information about Scobi more than that he was a neutered male, been examined by the vet, vaccinated and dewormed.

In the beginning of January, after a long drive he arrived in the end to Sweden and home to Sara.

"He really is a superlugn dog and we were so surprised that he was so easy to deal with," she says.

During the inspection, in Sweden, discovered the vet a small lump on the inside of the hind leg. At first it was thought that it was a tumor but the x-ray images could the vet say that it was bullets from a shotgun. Later discovered a gunshot in the chest, two inches from the heart.

" I was, of course, jättechokad and started to cry when I got the news. Who can do such a thing to a dog?

" We suspected in the beginning that maybe he has been hit because he was so afraid of cars. As soon as we were in an area with many cars, and he sat down and refused to go. We have also wondered if perhaps he been beaten because he had been afraid of the big sticks. I picked up sticks in the woods sometimes when we were out walking, and then he became terrified.

We're sitting in Sarah's sofa, and next to her is the new member of the family faithfully and looking curiously at us. Sometimes start Scobi gasping for breath, and Sara says that he does so when he gets stressed.

" Everybody wants to have a cute puppy but there are so many homeless dogs around the world that no one takes care of. People just throw out their dogs on the street. There was no doubt that we would adopt.

Sara want to be clear that she thinks that it is important to go through a ”reputable” organization, because her experience was that the survey in Sarajevo were not in a good way.

" Would I adopt again, I would probably not done in the same way. This really was a lottery and we have had such luck to get such a calm and nice dog, " she says.

today feel Scobi good. You can see an inner calm with him, and next to the math, he is happy and safe. The best Scobi know is to play with the dogs in the hundgruppen that he and Sara hits a few times a week. He also loves to chase squirrels and hares.

– To the weekend we go to our country place and the Scobi to swim in the sea for the first time, " says Sara.
