Italian radical: cancel the decrees and safety lock, the Memorandum, of the Italy-Libya

Via the decrees of the safety and stop the Memorandum between Italy and Libya on migration. Massimiliano Iervolino, secretary of the Italian Radical, asks the government to proceed with the announced revision of the measures implemented by Matteo Salvini and to the block of agreements with Tripoli which will be automatically renewed next Sunday 2 February.

Why do you ask for to cancel the decrees yet?
"We call for the repeal of the decrees yet because they have only produced a greater number of irregular creating lawlessness in our country and have caused more deaths in the Mediterranean. The government announces that since its constitution the revision of the decrees yet. But it does not. Why?
"Because they are afraid of dissent on public opinion. And therefore prefer to avoid dealing with the topic. Us since the birth of the government had two problems: the relationship with Europe. and on this ground something we have seen, and the decrees of the security, and the Memorandum of the Italy-Libya. On this themes, however, there is nothing done, because the propaganda of Matteo Salvini, based on these arguments, and the government thinks that by intervening, you lose votes. Instead, we think that you will not lose the votes, and you save several human lives."

Sunday expires, the Memorandum between Italy and Libya. The government has failed to negotiate a new version and it will automatically enter into force the current version...
We ask that this agreement may be suspended. And on Sunday we will do a demonstration in front of Parliament, because we believe that it was an act unconstitutional because it has not been ratified by Parliament and, as has been shown a few days ago to the Un, has produced the dead, and inhuman conditions in camps in libya".

The Italian Radical, together with other organizations, have gathered signatures and presented to Parliament a proposal which is called "I Was a stranger". The approach is completely reversed to that securitario that goes for more. To what extent are the parliamentary work?

We hope to arrive in the classroom as soon as possible because it is the only legislation that you can give to the migration flows and to the whole question of immigration. An intelligent response as opposed to responses and demographic that come from the Five Star Movement and the League of Salvini".

I n this proposal also provides for the regularization of so-called illegal immigrants who are on the territory of the Italian..
"we Propose the regularization because we know well that the decrees of the security have accentuated these traits of irregularities, while the Italian labour market needs, and this we do not say that only us professionals that you could find inside of the irregularity that is there today in our country among foreigners."

But are not afraid to challenge the unpopularity?
"No, we are not afraid to challenge the unpopularity. Why as radicals we have always said that matters so local should be met with intelligence and programming, and we believe that our proposal can bring us to a phenomenon of migration and the law"
