Monsanto ordered to pay $857 million for exposure to PCB pollutants

The Monsanto group, a subsidiary of the German giant Bayer, was ordered, Monday, December 18, to pay $857 million in damages to student and parent volunteers at a school in Washington State, exposed to PCBs ( polychlorinated biphenyls), so-called “eternal” pollutants.

The Monsanto group, a subsidiary of the German giant Bayer, was ordered, Monday, December 18, to pay $857 million in damages to student and parent volunteers at a school in Washington State, exposed to PCBs ( polychlorinated biphenyls), so-called “eternal” pollutants. In a reaction sent to AFP, Monsanto indicated its desire to appeal this decision, as it has done in other cases relating to the same school, the Sky Valley Education Center, in Monroe.
