Result: traffic should be “dense between the northern borders and the winter sports resorts of the Alps” from Friday evening and all day Saturday, but should return to normal on Sunday.

In terms of returns in particular, “difficulties should appear on the South-West roads, particularly on the A62 and the N124” from this Friday. While the return of ski resorts to the rest of the country and neighboring countries “should generate significant difficulties on the main Alpine routes, in the Rhône Valley and on those serving the eastern border regions”. Furthermore, and despite the end of the school holidays, traffic will still remain “very dense on the motorways serving the mountain resorts (A40, A43, N85)”.

In the direction of departures, Bison Futé advises avoiding the A40 motorway, between Mâcon and Annemasse, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., to avoid the A43 motorway, between Lyon and Modane from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and to avoid the national road. N85, between Grenoble and Gap from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In the direction of returns, you will have to avoid the A71 motorway, between Bourges and Orléans, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and near Clermont-Ferrand from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., the A26 motorway, between Troyes and Châlons-en-Champagne from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the A39 motorway, between Bourg-en-Bresse and Dijon from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., but also the A43 motorway, between Modane and Lyon from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as well as the N85 national road, between Gap and Grenoble from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 5 p.m.
