DiCaprio's Titanic costume and Star Wars droid C-3PO up for auction

Movie collectors will be happy. From November 9 to 12, more than 1,800 lots, costumes and set accessories will go under the hammer at the Propstore auction house specializing in the history of cinema, including the famous head of the C-3PO droid from Star Wars and the no less Leonardo DiCaprio's famous outfit in James Cameron's film Titanic, released in 1997.

The estimate for this exceptional sale is estimated at around 14 million euros. “The luminous head” worn by actor Anthony Daniels to play C-3PO in Star Wars: A New Hope, one of the highlights of this auction, is estimated at 550,000 euros. Popstore boss Stephen Lane also promises other surprises: “We have all of Anthony Daniels' memories from his time working on the Star Wars films. This includes stage props and a few other parts of the droid like its hands and feet. Finally, we have original scripts enriched with annotated comments.

For Leonardo DiCaprio's costume, the auctioneer's pitch is also attractive. Of the “titanic” outfit there remains the shirt, vest and pants that DiCaprio wore in the film. The whole thing is estimated between 100,000 and 200,000 dollars. James Bond fans will also be spoiled since the bathrobe of Ursula Andress aka Honey Rider in Doctor No will be on sale for around 60,000 euros (low estimate).

As for pure movie buffs, they will have to get their hands on two pure rarities: the shooting script for The Shining annotated by hand by Stanley Kubrick (25,000 to 45,000 euros) and the coat worn by Marlon Brando in The Godfather (20,000 at 40,000 euros). Finally, Indiana Jones fans will be able to jump on the whip of Harrison Ford from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (80,000 to 160,000 euros)
