Distressing opvangtekort in adolescent psychiatry: daughter (12) walks away and wants to die, but the situation is not serious enough

Sint-Pieters-Leeuw The adoptive parents of the twelve-year-old Yamilette - the girl that last week of home away - are close to despair. Their daughter has been waiting for months for appropriate psychiatric help. “In the meantime, they fire, led her to suicide attempts and she ran four times away from home. I do not know if I all those months, yet you persist.” The mother heart of Katleen Van Wassenhoven (45) breaks again and again as adoptiedochtertje Yamilette begs to help. “They ran this year, four times away, once to the Netherlands, they scratched repeatedly with a razor blade in her forearm and tried to set fire to in her room, with paper around a nightlight to keep up”, sighs the mom. “She sometimes says that she is dead wants to and get attacks that she begins to scream. Then they all crying with us, and says that she loves us. But it is all not bad enough for her accelerated inclusion for psychiatric support. Harsh to say, but the suicide attempts and arson attacks have more drastic are to have a chance on a faster support.”

The suicide attempts and arson attacks should be ‘more dramatic’ for a chance to win a faster support. That is yet incomprehensible?!
