Young people are made aware of organ donation by the Poniente University Hospital

These days, the Institute of Secondary Education Murgi of El Ejido has started its Healthy Week. This initiative aims to get students closer to healthy eating habits and better nutrition.

One of the most notable events to date was an information-and awareness day by the Transplant Coordination of the Poniente University Hospital. It took place within the context of World No Tobacco Day.

Through an informative'stand,' in which the A Plenopulmon' Association, located in Cordoba, but whose president was from Ejido also participated, students at the center were taught about organ donation and how Spain's National Transplant System operates. Spain is a leader in this area.

Javier Fierro was the hospital's Transplant Coordinator. He conducted various educational and recreational activities with students from the IES Murgi to help them understand the concepts of transplant and the Spanish model.

Javier Fierro stressed this point to students by insisting on "the need for us to talk to our loved ones about our donation position" and reminded them of "the importance of formalizing registration in the Registry of Advance Vital Wills, where we can clearly express our wishes in the face of these and other issues at the end of our lives>>
