Thousands of visitors and neighbors enjoyed the Patron Saint Festivities at Churriana de la Vega

The 2018 Patron Saint Festivities of Churriana de la Vega in honor the Virgen de la Cabeza have been a success. The fair was attended by thousands of people from all walks of the community, including visitors and residents.

Antonio Narvaez, the mayor, said that "the festivities were an example of celebrations, civility, and citizen participation." The mayor was keen to emphasize the great reception for traditional activities such as the traditional dinner to honor the elderly at the Municipal Pool, the packed children's snack, and the Vaiana musical at the Municipal Pavilion.

The public also attended activities like the Plaza Maestro Agustin Municipal School of Dance, the Music Band Contest, and the popular Paella in the Parque de la Paz. "Unforgettable was the procession of Virgen de la Cabeza which walked through Churriana to reach the Hermitage, despite the adverse weather conditions."

Narvaez says that the Churriana celebrations grow each year. They offer a wide variety of activities and opportunities every September. "The City Council is committed to a festival where everyone has a place, and there is space for all concerns and interests."

The mayor stated that culture, sports, festivals, and children's games are still a major part of festivals that combine the traditional with new, what we are with our common humanity.

Narvaez wanted "to thank the effort and dedication of all who have made these days of joy and celebration possible", and he referred to the Civil Guard and Local Police, Civil Protection personnel, volunteers, Festival Commission, and of course to the thousands of people who participated.
