The American-European Congress of Opthalmic Surgery (AECOS) is an association that brings together top executives from companies involved in the visual health sector in Europe and the USA.
The society was founded in 2011 as the Congress of American thought leaders. In 2012, it expanded to become the American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery. This prestigious society is still dedicated to improving the quality and vision of patients through innovative ophthalmology.
Joaquin Fernandez (Medical Director of Qvision, Ophthalmology Unit at Hospital Vithas Almeria), has been elected to the Scientific Advisory Committee for the AECOS Europe Society in relation to Multifocal Intraocular Lenses. He presented the European Working Group's report on positive dysphotopsias at the annual AECOS Congress in Antwerp (Belgium). He also shared his experiences in creating a Functional Classification of Multifocal Intraocular lenses for surgery of Presbyopia or Cataracts.
