Police are looking for Kadyrov's 17,000-euro stallion

In the Czech Republic, the police are intensively searching for a stolen horse that is said to have belonged to the notorious Chechen ruler Ramzan Kadyrov. The authorities said that unknown perpetrators probably stole the stallion from his stable in Krabcice during the night from Friday to Saturday.

The 16-year-old bay horse of the Thoroughbred horse breed bred for galloping sports an irregular white spot in the shape of a star on its forehead. The value of the breeding animal is estimated at at least 17,000 euros.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Finance in Prague confirmed to public broadcaster on Wednesday that the horse was actually in Kadyrov's possession. It is among the assets that have been "frozen" due to EU sanctions.

The EU accuses the ruler of the Russian republic of Chechnya of serious human rights violations. Kadyrov is considered a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been waging a war of aggression against Ukraine for more than a year. In addition to the Russian army and mercenaries from the Wagner group, Kadyrov's militiamen are also fighting in Ukraine.

The media in Prague now speculated that Kadyrov himself could be behind the kidnapping of the horse. The Chechen ruler reacted indignantly to the news of the theft: "Where are the glorious police with the democratically efficient and progressive methods of reconnaissance," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

In Chechnya, you can leave your car on the street without being damaged, but in the Czech Republic, a sanctioned horse is stolen from the stable, he chafed. According to him, the animal costs 10 million US dollars – the equivalent of almost 9.5 million euros.
