HSV shareholders withdraw confidence from Marcell Jansen

"We withdraw our confidence in you as the chairman of the supervisory board because of your behavior," quoted the "Hamburger Abendblatt" from an email to Jansen.

In essence, it is about Jansen's dealings with ex-CFO and co-partner Thomas Wüstefeld, the upcoming replacement of the supervisory board and the ongoing dispute at the HSV top. Investor Klaus-Michael Kühne, who holds 15.21 percent of the AG shares, had previously criticized Jansen's personnel. "He is responsible for the personal hiccups, which has a negative effect on the club. I wish for new people who come from outside. We need a fresh start," the 85-year-old billionaire said recently.

At the beginning of December, the composition of the new supervisory board is to be announced at a general meeting of AG shareholders. As President of the e.V., which is the largest shareholder with 75.1 percent, Jansen has at least a place on the control committee. However, only the membership, which has grown to 90,000, can deprive him of his post as club president at a regular or extraordinary general meeting by voting out. In the end, however, only a very small number of members took part in the elections.
