From August 10-14, the first 100 Hours of Sport Since covid will take place

Roquetas de Mar City Council has already begun to prepare a new edition of 100 Hours of Sport. This is the first time that the 100 Hours of Sport will be held since the outbreak of covid-19. It was the only event of its kind in the past two years.

The event, which will celebrate its XXXIVth edition, will be held this year from August 10-14. With the support of Consistory, its organization will be handled by a private company. It will provide the majority of the material, as well as the health services, surveillance, tents, and leisure areas. The City Council has offered a private contract to organize the event, which is valued at 97.627 euros.

The contract company will manage the technical-sports organization for the 100 Hours. However, the City Council has the right to direct the management of the facilities, councils, cleaning, and also the contributions of the auxiliary staff and control over the inscriptions.

This contract is in line with the City Council's recent policy of outsourcing activities. In fact, all work to organize the patron saint festivities for semester two has been outsourced in recent months. The rest of the year's sporting events or management of Santa Ana bullfighting show have also been offered for tender.

This contract includes information about security, medical services, and tents. It also shows that there are a variety of options for developing sports events over the five days. The Infanta Cristina pavilion will host activities from the first day to the last day. There will also be activities at Las Salinas slopes with meetings every day. Or the Plaza de Toros which will host activities for multiple days and the closing night of the conference. Competitions will be held in the Parque de Los Bajo.

A second prominent spot this year will be at the Paseo de los Banos end, on La Romanilla beach. There will be activities both in the morning as in the afternoon on August 13. Last but not least, the La Gloria neighborhood hall will host competitions on August 12th.

The contract covers services such as the presence and treatment of medical teams at the above locations. It also includes the installation of tents at the Los Bajo Park for petanque events. Another tent is located on La Romanilla beach for swimming and beach volleyball.

The 100 Hours of Sport, as it is well known, is an event that transcends the sporty. It is a celebration of coexistence, which is attended by not only residents of the municipality but also visitors.
