After the Consistory withdrew their request for assistance due to the absence of a collaboration agreement with the Centro Comercial Abierto Almeria Centro, the Territorial Delegation of Employment, Training, Self-Employment, Economic Transformation, and Industry, Knowledge and Universities of Almeria filed a request for assistance from the City Council of Almeria for the tenting of shopping streets in the centre of the city.
Almeria City Council asked for 52,070 euro from the Andalusian Government through the help lines for investments of 118.007.43 euros. This included the tenting of the central streets for five months. It covered almost 60% of the budget.
Yesterday's municipal sources stated that documentation was provided by Alcentro to document the collaboration through Alcentro using a different legal figure, which is based on a subvention, to execute the action. However, they acknowledged the lack of an agreement of updated cooperation, which is required by the Andalusian Administration in order to be eligible for the aid.
Between May and September
The Board requested photographs of buildings it intended to act on and a document that proved the support of merchants' associations.
The subsidy was intended to cover several streets in the city's center between May-September of this year. This was in accordance to municipal planning which, according to forecasts, will not be happening this summer. In its most ambitious aspect, the marquee covered nearly 4,000 meters of streets and cost around one million euros.
