This week, the Local Government Board approved the hiring of the contractor to construct the lane for personal mobility vehicles and bicycles that will connect the core of Balerma with Guardias Viejas. It will be constructed adjacent to the road.
This action, which is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Residualence Plan, was funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU Funds. It has a base budget of one million euro. The objective of the project is to establish a pedestrian link, either by bike or skate, to promote sustainable mobility in the municipality and contribute to improving environmental and health conditions.
It will be four kilometers in length and bidirectional.
This is how the local government can create a more sustainable city, develop low-emission zones and build a non-motorized connectivity infrastructure between the main municipalities.
Cultural and Recreational Circle
The Local Government Board also approved the hiring of a van type vehicle for El Ejido Local Police Force as well as the hiring loading and unloading services, tailoring, and lighting to be able to attend the shows and other activities that are part of the Cultural Programming of the City Council.
The same thing happened with the approval of the extension of the lease for the current year of facilities at the Cultural and Recreational Circle El Ejido.
