The Armilla city council and The Coruscant archive creators have launched a contest to find stories that are set in the Harry Potter universe. This activity will take place as part of El alley of magic, a cultural event that organizes various activities to celebrate it in 2019. These include a poster contest and this literary contest. "El alley of Magic" is a conference that celebrates fantasy and magic for both young and old.
The contest will include young people aged between 5 and 17 years. They will be able enjoy different categories based on their age.
The first category is 'Welcome to Hogwarts'. It's for children aged 5-12 years. They have created the category A golden flash’ for fans of Quidditch. This is reserved for stories that are set in a match of the original fictional sport. The minimum page will be five pages, and the maximum page number will be ten. The last category, "Marauders", is an all-you can-eat category. Maximum pages are 15. This category is open to applicants up to 17 years old.
Participants can submit stories for each category. Each winner will receive a copy of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" in the "Welcome to Hogwarts" category. A book of the theatre play titled "Harry Potter and the cursed Legacy" will also be awarded to the writer of the best story in the "Marauders” category. A secret prize will also be awarded to the story with the best submission.
All texts must be placed within the context of the official histories for Harry Potter universe and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This includes the books, movies, and the play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. You may use either the official canonical characters, or any new characters that were created by participants.
To participate you must send the story to the email contestrelatosarmilla@hotmail.com, indicating the name of the contest and the category in the subject. The text must contain the following information: the name, age, title, and legal guardian of the father, mother, or legal guardian. Texts that contain explicit violence, or are considered offensive will be rejected. Submissions are due by March 20.
