Tv-host stops in the DR: he is now

on Monday it emerged that the longtime host on the Dr forbrugermagasin 'Cash', Jakob Illeborg, stops.

The 47-year-old host has already had the last working day - not just on the program, he has been a host on for four years, but also in the DR.

instead throws Illeborg over something else entirely - namely, the music. Before he became a journalist and tv host, was Illeborg namely the lead singer in the band Warwick Avenue, who broke through in the mid 00's.

Now he releases his first solo record, due out this spring. It writes his record label, Sundance Records, in a press release.

'Think early Van Morrison or Bruce Springsteen, but darker and wilder', reads the description of the sound.

About the album says Jakob Illeborg:

- I'm insanely proud of the plate, which will soon come. The extent of my work as tv host and correspondent has admitted it, I have written and recorded music in London and Copenhagen, and it is the work that now sees the light of day. I am lucky to have a really crazy good band behind me, and the album that comes bears the marks of the spark that is in håndspillet, not computer-based music. It started out as a minimalist project, but ended up with a big band with horns, strings, and solo, and it was wildly fun to make. Many of the songs are written in hotel rooms around the world, when there was a need for a break from journalism.

Before Jakob Illeborg was the host of 'Cash', he was, among other things DR-the correspondent in London and host of 'DR2 the Day'. And he does not journalism completely on the shelf.

- I have had 10 fantastic years in the DR, as a correspondent and tv host. Not least my work with the 'Cash', has brought me really close to many danes, and it has been great, to be the viewers ' watchdog. Now shall I do for my own music, and it will be great. I promise that I will return to journalism at a later time, so it is not a goodbye, but a see you soon. But now it must for a time be about the music, and I am pleased and hope that the many people I have made tv will give my music a chance, he adds.
