Blodskams debut album oozes with a mental illness. Brödraduon from Falun lime trees, not the message. The cover picture, painted by expressionisten Christoffer Totte Engvall, looks like that Jackson Pollock interpreted Edvard Munch's ”the Scream”.
the name comes from the old Swedish word for incest. The lyrics are about the burning of locked-in people, amnesia and isolation. ”Sometimes I speak to god/he lives right next to me/he screams from inside his cell/I can’t understand his words” called it in one place. On the other: ”The sleep, the drugs, the smell.”
svartmetall à la Dissection, Bathory and Black Sabbath. Everything in a fuzzig production that brings to mind pårökt stonerrock and infinite fractals. A restive, and intriguing, combination.
Best tracks: ”Routines”, ”Là-bas”
