Olivia Newton-John has published a touching message on social media Instagram, after it has emerged that John Travoltas wife, Kelly Preston, has passed away after a two year long battle against breast cancer.

Newton-John played in the role as Sandy opposite Travolta in the cult film 'Grease'. She writes:

'Kelly Preston was a brilliant, warm and gentle soul - a loving, devoted wife, mother and a dear friend. My heart is broken on behalf of John, Ella and Ben. No words can describe my sorrow on behalf of the family. Kelly's light shines on her beautiful children.'

Just breast cancer is something that Olivia Newton-John has had a close up on life. All three times she has had breast cancer, and in 2018, it emerged that it had spread to the back.

In February of this year she told, however, that the health had the 'fantastic'. Along with Kelly Preston she has previously fought to remove toxic chemicals from the børneting.

It was John Travolta himself, who on Sunday confirmed the death on his Instagram profile.

It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT

'It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that my beautiful wife has lost a fight in two years against breast cancer. She fought a good fight with the love and support of many,' wrote Travolta, among others.

Kelly Preston was, like her husband actor and has starred in films such as 'Jerry Maguire', 'Twins' and 'Mischief'. Preston leaves her husband by 29 years, John Travolta, and the couple's two children, Ella Bleu, 20-year and Benjamin in nine years.
