What does Berlusconi intend to do with ProSiebenSat.1?

The television company ProSiebenSat.1 gets a new boss in November – the manager Bert Habets takes over the job from Rainer Beaujean. Habets was previously a member of the supervisory board, now the former head of RTL Group is moving to the post of CEO. The change at the top of the group comes as a surprise - even if the Munich-based company's share price has been at a low level for some time and should not make the owners happy.

The new appointment again raises the question of what plan co-owner Media for Europe (MFE) is pursuing. The Berlusconi family is behind the holding and the media company Mediaset is also organized here. MFE controls around a quarter of the voting rights in ProSiebenSat.1. Manager Katharina Behrends has just been appointed as head of MFE in the German-speaking countries. In this issue of "Media Week" we talk about the situation at ProSiebenSat.1.
